3D animation cost in India (2026): per minute, per second and per product film

3D is where animation budgets go wrong fastest, because the expensive part, rendering photoreal detail, stays invisible until late in the project. Here are the 2026 market rates in India from five public price guides, and what decides where you land.

The short answer

3D animation in India costs roughly ₹40,000 to ₹80,000 per minute for basic work, ₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000 per minute for most business use such as product demos and engineering explainers, and ₹2,00,000 to ₹4,00,000 or more for photoreal work (Cybertize Media, 2026). Per second, that is about ₹700 at the basic end and up to ₹6,700 for photoreal.

A 60-second 3D product animation for an electronics or FMCG brand typically costs ₹1,00,000 to ₹2,50,000 all-in, and a 30-second one ₹40,000 to ₹1,20,000.

Per minute, by quality

TierPer finished minuteTypical use
Basic 3D₹40,000 to ₹80,000Product rotations, logo animation, short social clips
Mid-tier 3D₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000Product demos, engineering and manufacturing explainers, medical devices
High-end or photoreal₹2,00,000 to ₹4,00,000+Premium product films and cinematic work
Product visualisation₹60,000 to ₹3,00,000+How a product looks, works and is made
Industrial and technical process₹60,000 to ₹3,00,000Machinery and process animation
Medical or technical₹80,000 to ₹5,00,000+Work that needs expert review
Architectural walkthrough₹40,000 to ₹2,50,000From one apartment to a full complex

MotionCube's 2026 guide runs a little higher for 3D: ₹1,20,000 to ₹2,50,000 per minute in its standard rate, with budget work starting around ₹80,000 and premium work above ₹2,20,000.

Per second

Studios rarely quote per second, but buyers often think that way. Dividing the per-minute ranges above by 60 gives about ₹700 per second for basic 3D, ₹1,300 to ₹3,300 for mid-tier business work, and ₹3,300 to ₹6,700 for photoreal. Short films cost more per second, because modelling and look development take the same effort whether the film runs 15 seconds or 60.

Common product film budgets

ProjectTypical budget in IndiaSource
30-second 3D video for standard business use₹20,000 to ₹75,000Cybertize Media
30-second 3D product animation₹40,000 to ₹1,20,000, in 14 to 21 daysSR Creative Productions
30-second 3D animation₹70,000 to ₹1,50,000MotionCube
60-second 3D product animation, electronics or FMCG₹1,00,000 to ₹2,50,000 all-inCybertize Media
60-second 3D animation₹1,20,000 to ₹2,50,000MotionCube
Photoreal 3D explainer, modelling and rendering₹4 lakh to ₹10 lakh+Akkenna

The guides disagree at the bottom end, and the gap is usually scope: whether the price includes building the model, the materials and the camera moves, or only animating a model you already have.

India compared with other markets

MarketPer minute of 3D product animation
India$1,000 to $4,000+
United States$8,000 to $25,000+
United Kingdom£6,000 to £20,000+
UAEAED 15,000 to 60,000+

What pushes a 3D quote up

  • No CAD files. Modelling a product from photos takes days. Sending STEP or native files can take that off the bill.
  • Photorealism. Materials, lighting and render time are where high-end budgets go.
  • Moving parts. Anything that opens, rotates or assembles needs rigging.
  • Changes after lighting. A late change in 3D can mean re-rendering whole sequences.
  • Versions. A new aspect ratio is a re-render whenever the framing changes.
  • GST. 18% on production services, if not already included.

How to keep 3D affordable

  1. Build one good model and reuse it across the website, ads and sales deck.
  2. Mix 3D with 2D: use 3D only for the shots where the inside of the product matters.
  3. Approve still renders before animation, the same way you approve style frames in 2D.
  4. Keep the film to one use case.

Questions people ask

How much does 3D animation cost per minute in India?

About ₹40,000 to ₹80,000 for basic work, ₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000 for most business work, and ₹2,00,000 to ₹4,00,000 or more for photoreal work, per Cybertize Media's 2026 guide.

How much does 3D animation cost per second in India?

Roughly ₹700 per second at the basic end, ₹1,300 to ₹3,300 for mid-tier business work and up to ₹6,700 for photoreal, derived from per-minute market rates.

How much does a 3D product animation cost?

A 30-second product animation typically costs ₹40,000 to ₹1,20,000 and a 60-second one ₹1,00,000 to ₹2,50,000 all-in, depending on realism.

Why is 3D more expensive than 2D?

Modelling, rigging, lighting and rendering add steps that 2D does not have. In MotionCube's guide, a 60-second 3D video costs two to three times a 60-second 2D motion graphics video.

Is India cheaper than the US for 3D animation?

Yes. Asense Branding's 2026 guide puts India at $1,000 to $4,000+ per minute against $8,000 to $25,000+ in the US.
